We are pleased to announce the official completion of the SISTERS Project Handbook, which will soon be available to the wider public. This document represents the result of several months of coordinated research and collaboration among partners across six countries. The process included the collection of 26 good practices, 92 interviews, and 18 focus groups with a total of 136 participants, offering valuable insights into the current state of equality in sport.
The Handbook provides a comprehensive and realistic overview of key challenges across various sports disciplines and offers practical guidance for improving equal opportunities in sporting environments. It includes recommendations, analyses, and hands-on tools designed to support sports organisations, coaches, and athletes in creating more inclusive, safe and respectful spaces in sport.
In parallel, work is ongoing on the Sports Bag – an educational toolkit featuring training models, exercises, tests, video materials and additional resources designed for coaches, sports managers and young athletes. The Sports Bag aims to support sports communities in identifying barriers, strengthening team dynamics, and integrating equality principles into daily practice.
The release of the Handbook and Sports Bag marks an important step in raising awareness about challenges within the sports sector and providing practical tools to foster respect, equality and safe sports environments.
