SMOC organises the final event of the Erasmus+ TALENT project in Sarajevo

News 10/04/2025

Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures (SMOC) had the honour of organising the final event of the Erasmus+ project TALENT – “FEED YOUR TALENT” on 10 April 2025, held at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Sarajevo.

The TALENT project represents a strategic partnership of seven countries: Croatia, Italy, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Launched on 1 December 2022, the project spans 30 months and focuses on improving methods for early talent identification, adapting educational programmes to the needs of young athletes, and creating a supportive environment that includes coaches, educators, and parents. Through the development of an online platform and recommendations for all involved actors, TALENT aims to prevent the dropout of young people from school or sport and to build a model that can be applied and adapted across different social contexts.

The final event in Sarajevo included the presentation of key results from all work packages, including:

  • standards for identifying talented children
  • development of the E-STOP digital platform • trainings for coaches and educators
  • inspiring testimonials from project participants

The event was further enriched by the students of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, who—through discussion and interaction—contributed to a meaningful exchange of experiences on the future of dual careers in sport and education.

SMOC extends its gratitude to the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Sarajevo for their warm hospitality, as well as to all project partners for their excellent cooperation:

  • Centre of Excellence of the Split-Dalmatia County (Croatia) – project coordinator
  • CSI – Center for Social Innovation (Cyprus)
  • Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures – SMOC (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  • Università degli Studi di Palermo (Italy)
  • KMOP – Education and Innovation Hub (Greece)
  • The European Athlete as Student – EAS (Malta)
  • Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Niš (Serbia)

Participation in the TALENT project reaffirms SMOC’s ongoing commitment to promoting education, cooperation, and social innovation with the aim of strengthening the capacities of young people in local and international communities.
